Enough Should Be Enough

The "Enough Should Be Enough Listening Tour" (Que lo Justo sea Justo) is a massive, grassroots effort launching in February to engage 50,000 North Carolinians—specifically targeting the 2 million voters who sat out the last election—to reclaim a state that serves us rather than the ultra-wealthy.

We are at a breaking point because President Trump and Republicans in Congress pushed through the "Big Billionaire Bill" (H.R. 1), while the NC General Assembly continues its plan to eliminate corporate taxes entirely, ensuring the wealthiest pay almost nothing. This shift forces the average North Carolinian (regardless of immigration status) to pay over $3,000 a year in extra costs for electricity, healthcare, and food, even as NC’s wealthiest families pocket $6 billion in tax savings—a sum larger than the entire annual budget of the UNC System.

At the same time, we’ve watched ICE and CBP flood cities across the US and right here in North Carolina, causing chaos and costing untold millions in business closures and workers staying home fearing the unjust warrantless detentions we’ve all seen on TV and in our own neighborhoods. The Big Billionaire Bill gives them even MORE money, an unprecedented $175 billion dollars to the Department of Homeland Security.

By joining our movement, you will help collect the stories and priorities of our neighbors to draft a People’s Agenda at the July “Enough Should Be Enough” Convention. This agenda will be our mandate, forcing 2026 statewide candidates to answer for these costs at a major town hall in August and proving that North Carolina’s future belongs to us, not the ultra-wealthy.

We can learn a lot from Minnesota. People there did not just “whistle ICE out” of their cities – they organized in teams to create defections, put pressure on corporate leaders and forced an early end to the occupation. Our listening tour teams will make a lot possible tomorrow in our state that is not possible today
